I think the general population needs to be okay with seeing freaks. Like, harmless freaks. Anyone outside of the norm.
Whether they be queer, alternative, kinky, fandom, furries, what have you. Nobody has to normalize shit except minding your business. That's my take. Whether in person or online. If you don't like how somebody looks, look away. If they're not hurting anybody, if they're not being hateful, leave 'em be.
Are there people that are shitheads & genuinely hurt others while in those communities? Yeah sure but that goes for any community. Because people are not a monolith. But they don't reflect the whole group. Sometimes someone just likes wearing cat ears or has outrageous body mods. That's for them to decide.
I dunno, I just think everyone has a right to do what they want with their own body. Sure, don't hurt yourself on purpose. But like, if you want to look a certain way & can afford to do so, do it. It's not up to randos on the street or online to dictate that. If someone has a problem, they can keep walking, keep scrolling, or even block while online.
This goes especially for kink, I reckon. Not into a fetish? Move on. Hell, I don't like the step-family shit, but I'm not gonna go after anyone that calls their partner daddy. Not gonna yuck anyone's yum. As long as they're two (or more) consenting adults, it ain't my business.
It's ok to be a freak. They're important for the ecosystem.
This psuedo-rant is disjointed & not well worded, but I hope the point is easy to parse. Mind ya business. Be a monster lover if ya want. Your body is a temple to you alone.
