Shit, I totally forgot what I considered blogging about today. I got distracted writing an interlude segment for that Vampire the Masquerade in-character diary I mentioned a few posts back. It's not gonna be out until roughly the 27th, when the next session is. The interludes are text-based roleplays done in-between sessions when the scene is chill enough to allow. Perfect for when the blorbo brainworms are insatiable.
Honestly I'm proud of myself for writing so much lately. Well, by lately, I mean almost half a year. That's when the Turn of the Fortune's Wheel campaign started, when I first began writing in-character diaries. Writing down notes as the session progresses, and using those as a sketch for when I put the events in character.
I do worry if I'm using the notes aa too much of a crutch though? Like, writing stuff from scratch takes way longer. I need to practice both forms of writing to get better, I think. That's one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog, actually! To have a place to practice writing. Sure, these blog posts are more stream-of-conciousness than a cohesive story, but it's putting my fingers to the keyboard. The ramblings help my writing insecurities somehow.
Oh, I do have a couple short literatures on my toyhouse that are less about the TTRPGs I play. A couple based on roleplays I've done, but there's a backstory to my clown character in the works, and the start of a MLP fanfiction on there.
As insecure I may get about my writing, my biggest buff to my ego is that I have never once used generative AI. Sure I only have one and a half chapters on the stories mentioned in the last paragraph. But it's a process I'm willing to take slow.
I hate the wave of generative AI slop nowadays, but one positive is I feel like a god for being able to write my own letters, emails, and stories. Huge ego boost to know that I've been honing my roleplaying skills for over a decade instead of using that character AI shit. B)
